NOTES

It's hard to articulate the addictive beauty of San Francisco. Like a Lava Lamp that never burps up the same pattern twice, the "SanFranscape" is an ever-changing mix of light, cloud and color that never fails to dazzle and enchant the viewer. It's a photographer's dream, offering iconic bridges and buildings, vast stretches of reflective water, and fingers of fog that embrace it with a lover's knowing hand. The best sunrise skies appear in the stormy winter months, when rain clouds and smoke from wood burning fires present a dramatic array of patterns and colors. If you're a photographer, Sausalito's Bridgeway offers one of the best (and most easily accessible) vantage points. Arrive 45 minutes before sunrise to set up and scout out the best vista. Fort Baker is another spot that offers spectacular vistas of both the skyline and the Golden Gate Bridge. Many of the skyline panoramas of San Francisco were shot from my kitchen window.
