PROFILE
KAREN NICHOLS is a San Francisco Bay Area photographer whose work celebrates the natural beauty around her,  including the rugged hills of the Marin Headlands and the Pacific Coast.
Her lifelong experience as an artist has included formal schooling in illustration and painting, including PORTRAITURE and botanical illustration, and these sensibilities are woven into the tapestry of her photography. In particular, her explorations of the POLAROID IMAGE TRANSFER and EMULSION TRANSFER processes exploit her full arsenal of artistic skills and blur the line between reality and dreamscape, photography and painting.
